Maddison Lee has already discovered that some of life’s biggest victories are measured by growth rather than trophies. Whether she is competing in three sports or strengthening her faith, the Eufaula High School sophomore approaches each opportunity with gratitude, determination and a desire to keep improving.
Lee competes year-round in fast-pitch softball, slow-pitch softball, basketball and track, embracing the challenge of balancing multiple sports while continuing to develop as both an athlete and a person.
Among the accomplishments she treasures most, one stands above the rest. “Getting baptized and placing sixth overall in long jump at regionals for track” are the moments she is most proud of, reflecting both her spiritual journey and her dedication to athletics.
Sports have taught Lee lessons that extend far beyond competition. “It has taught me discipline and that body language is a big factor in everything,” she said. “These lessons have helped me become a better person by showing me how to face adversity and to power through when everything isn’t going your way.”
One of the biggest influences on her journey has been Coach Stacey Helms, whose confidence helped her recognize abilities she had yet to see in herself.
“He impacted my life tremendously by putting faith in me and seeing my potential before I did,” Lee said.

She also credits teammate Leah Green with helping shape her experience as a student-athlete.
“Leah Green has made the biggest impact on my life,” Lee said. “She is a leader, and I can always count on her to push me to be my best. Whether it’s softball, track or basketball, she is always there to lift you up and help you keep going.”
Away from athletics, Lee is active in the Oklahoma Honor Society, Eufaula High School Honor Society and the Eufaula FFA chapter. When she has free time, she enjoys making memories with family and friends at Lake Eufaula, a place she says has always brought people together.
The advice that continues to guide her came from Coach Jared Efurd.
“Don’t take the little things for granted because you won’t realize how much you miss it till it’s over,” he told her.
Lee said those words have taught her to slow down, appreciate each opportunity and understand that not everything has to happen all at once.
As she continues her high school career, Lee remains thankful for the people who have supported her every step of the way. She credits her family, friends and coaches for constantly encouraging her to work hard, stay grounded and pursue her goals with confidence. Their belief in her, combined with the values she has developed through faith and athletics, continues to shape the foundation for whatever comes next.
