WARNER LADY EAGLES
Coach: Mickey Duncan
OUTLOOK
“After a strong fast pitch season and returning nine slow pitch starters, team chemistry and experience should help us be successful,” said Warner head coach Mickey Duncan. “The leadership and talent of returning players like Ella LaBounty, Tallon Ashmore, Ava Peters and Adysen Dishman along with the addition of some talented newcomers like Paisley LaBounty, Addy Whitley and Londyn Girty with others will give us a strong foundation.”
At the center of that foundation is Ella LaBounty, who was one of the state’s most productive hitters. “Ella hit an impressive .602 batting average with 53 hits, 15 doubles and nine homeruns,” Duncan said.” She can play the infield and outfield as well as being a great leader and excellent student in the classroom. She has a love for the game of softball and is a true competitor.”
Duncan is also excited about underclassman Paisley LaBounty, who brings energy at the top of the lineup. “Freshman Paisley LaBounty has an impressive fast pitch season as a reliable leadoff hitter,” he said. “She delivered in high pressure situations, and we look for same performance in slow pitch.”
Ava Peters embodies what the Warner program is about. “Ava leads with integrity and strong work ethic,” Duncan said. “She competes in six different sports, treats everyone with respect and prioritizes the team over herself. She sets a positive example on and off the field.”
Alongside LaBounty, Ashmore, Peters, Dishman, Paisley LaBounty, Addy Whitley and Londyn Girty, Warner’s returning starters and newcomers give the Lady Eagles depth and versatility all over the field, with Duncan pointing to their chemistry and experience as keys to another successful campaign in slow pitch.
