After battling through a demanding district schedule a season ago, Eufaula enters 2026 with confidence that the experience gained during its postseason run can translate into greater success this fall. The Lady Ironheads finished 13-16 in 2025 but caught their stride late, advancing to the regional finals and establishing a foundation they hope to build upon. Now in his 11th season leading the program, head coach Ryan Green believes his team has the pieces to take another step forward.
Pitching and defense will once again be the identity of the Lady Ironheads. Green expects those two areas to keep Eufaula competitive every time it takes the field, while the offense looks to make noticeable strides. The Lady Ironheads plan to rely on their athleticism, aggressive baserunning and a small-ball approach that can manufacture runs when needed.
Leading the way is junior Leah Green, who has spent the majority of her career in the circle while also serving as one of the team’s top offensive threats. A fixture near the top of the lineup since her freshman season, Green combines speed on the bases with leadership on both sides of the ball. Her ability to control games as a pitcher while setting the tone offensively makes her one of Eufaula’s key returning players.
Versatility is another strength for the Lady Ironheads. Hannah Needham has already proven she can excel wherever she’s needed. After playing third base as a freshman, she caught most of the innings last season and is expected to move around the field again this year. Sophomore Maddison Lee returns after starting in the outfield as a freshman. A speedy slapper, Lee fits perfectly into Eufaula’s offensive philosophy.
Senior Briley Gragg provides veteran leadership and a team-first mentality. Although naturally an outfielder, she willingly moved to second base last season without hesitation. Her selfless approach and consistent effort have made her a dependable presence throughout her career.
With an experienced ace, versatile defenders and a roster committed to fundamentally sound softball, the Lady Ironheads have the ingredients to make another deep postseason push in 2026.
