2025 Oktaha Lady Tigers Basketball Preview – Presented by Cross

OKTAHA GIRLS

The Lady Tigers return four starters from a team that went 18-10 last year and made it to the area tournament. The question for coach Kia Holmes might be who will come to the front as the team leader this year?

“We don’t really have just one star player this year that teams will be able to key in on and on any given night any one of them could go off for a lot of points. But I think the thing that makes this team dangerous is that all they care about is winning and not who’s scoring a lot of points. We’re pretty small, but quick and feisty,” said Holmes.

The “them” that Holmes refers to are three players that will be the keys for Oktaha starting with Mia Scott ((5-6, So.).

“Mia had some big games for us as a freshman and she can score from anywhere on the court,” said Holmes. “She comes from a strong background that includes her sister Ava who was a standout athlete for us a few years ago. I’d like to see Mia shoot a little more this year.”

The other two keys are Hadley Branan (5-5, Jr.) and Tyann Stacy (5-5, Jr.).

“Hadley is more of a rebounding and defensive players while Tyann is coming back off an injury that cost her a few weeks off last year’s season. I expect her to put up a lot of points this year. We need her to have a good season for us to be successful this year,” said the Lady Tigers boss.

Another player that Holmes will be watching is Piper Brock (5-1, Fr.).

“Piper will come off the bench to give us minutes. She’s a high-energy defender who is small but spunky and I think she’ll get more minutes as the season goes along,” said Holmes.

Seniors BrenLee Morgan (5-2) and Shianne Dill (5-5) will provide team leadership while Kandence Strube (5-7, Jr.) will add some depth while sophomores Emma Dill (5-5), and Bella Watson (5-9) along with freshman Camdyn Hopkins will vie for playing time as well.
