HASKELL HAYMAKERS
Coach: TRANDY BIRCH
3-7
OFFENSE
The Haskell Haymakers welcome back 17 seniors that are among the seven returning starters on offense which has new coach Trandy Birch pretty excited. “The character and attitude of this senior group has been phenomenal. We’ve got some size and good experience returning. If we do our jobs as coaches in developing talent and building culture, this team is going to be fun to watch,” said Birch. Big Ryker Porter (6-5, 300, Sr.) who is a VYPE TOP 100 nominee, is back as the big force in the line for the Haymakers. “Ryker has the God-given intangibles of size, strength and athleticism and is a physical force in our line,” said Birch. Also returning at quarterback is P.J. Faul (6-4, 205, Sr.), another TOP 100 nominee who is a dual threat playmaker that had nearly 1800 yards of offense running and passing last year, totaling 23 touchdowns.” He’s the best young leader I’ve encountered in a while who is on track to be at top of his senior class next spring,” said Birch. “Quarterback is not his natural position, but his athletic and leadership abilities make him ours.” When Faul is not toting the ball, the running game will again be in the hands of Mason Londagin (5-11, 205, Sr.) who carried for 323 yards in 2024. Faul will have three proven receivers to snare his passes in Gavin Williamson (6-0, 160, Sr.), Ryan McGee (5-9, 160, Sr.) who had nearly 300 yards in receptions last season and Faul’s little brother Jake (6-0, 160, Jr.). Birch plans to run an up tempo, no huddle spread offense.
DEFENSE
Porter, who had 41 tackles with eight tackles for loss last year will head up the defensive line along with Londagin who logged 60 tackles with six of those for loss at linebacker. The Haskell secondary should be a strength with the return of Williamson and McGee at the corners and the Faul brothers at the safety spots in the 4-3 defense. Birch also has his eye on a couple of underclassmen he is excited about in Jagger Lewis (6-0, 260, So.) who can play H-back and linebacker and Marlin Johnson (6-6, 230, Fr.) who Birch feels has a tremendous upside for the Haymakers.
