GORE LADY PIRATES
COACH: Nicole Goodman
Record: 8–13
OUTLOOK
The Gore Lady Pirates enter the new season with renewed energy and leadership under first-year head coach Nicole Goodman, who takes over a veteran group with four seniors ready to anchor the program. Goodman believes this year’s team has the pieces to take a significant step forward. “This season looks good! We have four seniors who are ready to lead the way and a great group of role players ready to support and fill the team,” said Goodman.
Leading the way is senior post and VYPE Top 100 nominee Kennedy Williams (Sr.), the team’s most productive returning player and a reliable interior force. Goodman praised her senior standout’s consistency and dominance. “Kennedy averaged a double-double last year demonstrating her consistency and effort every single night on the floor. She also had several break-out games with 20+ points on multiple nights. Kennedy is dominant on the court from anywhere and is willing to work hard to get things done.” With her size, strength, and scoring ability, Williams will once again be the centerpiece of the Lady Pirates’ attack.
Gore’s senior backcourt trio — Emily Daily (Sr.), Rayleigh Moore (Sr.), and Gracie Bruce (Sr.) — brings leadership, experience, and steady guard play to the floor. Their ability to defend, handle the ball, and provide scoring balance will be key in supporting Williams and maintaining the team’s tempo and toughness.
Among underclassmen, freshman center Alevia Reasnor (Fr.) stands out as one of the program’s most promising young players. Goodman is impressed with her maturity and physical tools. “Alevia is a freshman center whose height and strength are only going to increase as she grows her skill. She is very impressive for being only 14 years old.” Reasnor’s development will be a major storyline for the team’s future.
Junior River Shoemake (Jr.), Gore’s Character Counts selection, continues to set the tone for the program through her leadership and compassion. Goodman described her as “one of the single kindest souls you could ever meet. She cares deeply about others, works hard, and leads her team on and off the court.”
Additional contributors such as Sophie O’Connor (Jr.), Kylie McEver (Fr.), and Camdyn Dotson (Fr.) round out a roster filled with potential.
