There’s an air of excitement surrounding the Fort Gibson Tiger basketball program as the 2025-26 season gets ready to start. That’s because coach Todd Dickerson returns all five starters from a team that went 20-8 last year and made it to the state tournament. Dominating the inside again for the Tigers will be senior Cooper Hackett (6-7) along with guard Brody Scott (5-9, Jr.) both of whom are VYPE Top 100 nominees.
“Cooper is very athletic and has great feet for a big man,” said Dickerson. “Brody is an elite ball handler and passer.”
Other returning players for Fort Gibson include Cash Keys (6-1, Jr.), Connor Lindsey (6-2, Sr.), Ky Murrell (5-10, Jr.) and Nico Ford (6-0, Jr.). Dickerson is also excited about a pair of sophomores who have a chance to contribute right away in Dawson Stevenson (6-3) who can play on the perimeter and Cayden Colbert (5-10) who the head coach calls “explosive and full of energy”. They are joined by fellow sophomores Mattix Laney (6-3), Karrson Davis (6-2) and Grady Lone (5-11), all of whom were members of the freshman conference championship team last year.
“We’re excited about the experience this group brings and look forward to competing at our best when the time comes,” said Dickerson.
