2025 Checotah Wildcats – Basketball Preview – Presented by Bravado Wireless

CHECOTAH WILDCATS

Coach: Malcolm Warrior

2024-25: 2-20

Out with the old, in with new…that’s the outlook for the Wildcats on the hardwood this year as head coach Malcolm Warrior welcomes a virtually new roster this season. VYPE Top 100 nominee Wes Brown (5-8, Sr. PG) leads a group of seniors as one of two players with game time experience.

“Weston plays much bigger than his 5-8 stature,” said the Wildcats mentor of talent.

“He averaged six rebounds per game competing against much bigger players and with his court vision set up teammates for scoring chances by dishing out five assists last year.”

Hudson Pollard (6-2, Sr. G), Koyah Littleman (6-0, Sr. F), Cooper Cutbirth (6-0, Sr. G) and Baylor Carter (5-11, Sr. G) will also be expected to provide senior leadership this season.

The Wildcats will also turn to Rowan Chapman (6-4, Jr. F) for an inside presence in the paint along with the athleticism of Cole Rolland (6-2 So. F), who led Checotah into the Class 3A football playoffs while playing quarterback.

“Rowan can be a double-double contributor,” said Warrior pointing to last year’s stat sheets where Chapman averaged 9.0 points in addition to collecting 8.5 rebounds per game. “His ability to defend at the rim is a bonus and he can improve on shot blocking totals after averaging 2-plus rejections as a sophomore.”
