Hulbert’s Easton Graalfs – Football Spotlight

At Hulbert High School, Easton Graalfs is the epitome of grit and leadership, both on and off the field. Even though football has played a big role in his life since the fifth grade, there is much more to his story than just the game. Easton’s father and grandparents, who showed him their love for the game at a young age, were the main sources of inspiration for his football interest: “My dad encouraged me to play football, and I’ve been in love with the sport ever since.”

As a Hulbert Rider, Easton’s role has evolved over time, but one thing has remained consistent: his commitment to uplifting and encouraging his teammates. “My role as a Hulbert Rider has changed multiple times throughout my career, but my favorite role has been uplifting and encouraging my fellow teammates.” This leadership is evident in the way he talks about his team’s chemistry. “Most of us have grown up playing with one another, so it doesn’t feel like a team but more like a family.”

One of Easton’s proudest moments came in the first game of the season, when the team secured a victory, breaking a three-year losing streak. “Our first game is a great example of our team coming together to win, and it set the tone for the season.” That win also came with a personal highlight for Easton: “The most memorable moment from the season so far was our first game when I caught an interception.”

When it comes to his personal goals for the season, Easton is focused on self-improvement. “My personal goal for this 2024 season is to improve on all of my stats from last season to the best of my ability,” he said, inspired by a quote from Ronnie Lott: “If you can believe it, the mind can achieve it.”

Off the field, Easton’s ambitions are just as determined. He envisions himself pursuing a degree in hospital administration with a minor in finance.

As Easton reflects on his football career at Hulbert, he is most proud of “giving it my very best and never quitting my team through all the adversities.”
