COLE MCCORKELL
WAGONER HIGH SCHOOL
Soccer and cross country are two of the things that senior Cole McCorkell really enjoys at Wagoner High School. He plays a wing or forward on the soccer team and has played since he was young. Running came a little bit later when he was in seventh grade.
“I like the feeling of accomplishment I get in running. One of my role models in both sports is former teammate James Coward who graduated last year. I like both sports a lot, but I probably like soccer a little more because I like the team aspect.”
“Cole has run all four years in high school and has been in our top five all three years. He’s a hard runner and he also has job outside of school so he’s always looking to balance his running, job and academics,” said his coach Morgan Mills.
Cole said one his highlights in cross country was setting a personal best of 21:36 last year. Following graduation next spring, Cole plans to attend tech school for a year and then look ahead to college.
